CASE STUDY

Acoustic  Impact Assessment – Weethalle

Project Details

Location:
Weethalle
Project Duration:
January 2026
Duration of Service:
3 weeks

Project Description & Scope

The acoustic assessment was for a proposed quarry operation to evaluate the potential noise impacts associated with the operation of the quarry and other activities on surrounding receptors. The scope of works included a review of existing background noise levels, predictive noise modelling and assessment of compliance with applicable criteria.

Our Role

Our role included providing a technical acoustic report which included identifying key noise sources from all the equipment to be used at the quarry, predicting the noise levels using a noise modelling software and assessing the predictions against the intrusiveness noise criteria applicable to the surrounding land use. A range of feasible and reasonable mitigation measures were proposed to address the potential noise exceedances at the receptor location to ensure compliance with the Noise policy.
